Judyth Piazza chats with Kent Healy, Cool Stuff Media, Inc

At a young age, Kent realized that he was not getting taught some very important life-skills in school.  To address this problem, he partnered with his brother at age 17 to write his first book, Cool Stuff " They Should Teach In School.  Since the book has been released in 2005 the overwhelming positive feedback drove Kent and his brother to found a publishing company called Cool Stuff " Media, Inc. (CSM).

Kent is currently a columnist for the Sun Post News and he also writes feature articles in various magazines across the country.  Beginning in September 2006, he will be composing a weekly half-page feature in Orange County Register (over 300,000 circulation). The content written by Kent Healy will be used by over 2,000 schools in Orange County.  He has also been invited on more than 70 radio shows and several TV stations around the country.  Kent is also working on more books, creating audio programs, organizing Tele-Courses, and speaking around the country.

Kent was selected from people across the nation to be one of ten contestants on a new groundbreaking TV show called, The Messengers.  On this show, he competed as the youngest contestant for the title: America`s Next Great Inspirational Speaker. "

He is also teaching a new year-long course for three San Clemente High School AVID classes that he has created called, The Science Of Success. "  This course shows the students how to take complete control of their thoughts and actions by understanding the psychology of achievement.

Kent was part of the Business Honors program and was selected by the Harvard Business School Association to receive a monetary scholarship rewarding his entrepreneurial efforts. Recently, he received membership to Phi Theta Kappa for his dedication to scholarly success. He has spoken to numerous schools and organizations and has a passion for helping other people improve their lives. 

In New Zealand, Kent placed in the top two percent of high school students for graphic and industrial design.  Kent is also an avid athlete. He holds an advanced Scuba Diver`s License, two national titles for water polo in New Zealand, and worked as a beach lifeguard (NZ) for three years.  He was named MVP on his high school varsity swim team.  He graduated from Los Altos High School (Northern California) in 2003 and is currently attending Saddleback College.

Kent enjoys surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and the opportunity to travel and experience diverse cultures. He also has an interest in extreme sports "although twenty-four hours a day just isn`t enough time to do it all.
