Chapter One

"You have got to be kidding me, Jason," Elizabeth laughs.  "There is a Starbucks in Italy?  This is the great place you're talking about?  Unbelieveable."  Elizabeth continues laughing.

"Well, it's not Italian,", Jason smiles, "but they do make great coffee."

"That's true-- and they have the best scones."

Jason and Elizabeth enters Starbucks and gets ready to order.

"Hello, welcome to Starbucks", said an Starbucks employee with an Italian accent.  "How are you today?"

"I'm all right", said Elizabeth.

"Good," said Jason.

"What would you like?"

"Uh, give me regular black coffee and a blueberry muffin.  Did you want anything, Elizabeth?"

"Yes, I would like hot chocolate with whipped cream and two blueberry scones, please."

"Coming right up."

The employee takes the muffin and the scones out of the tray while his co-worker does the coffee and the hot cocoa.  The employee tells Jason how much it is, and Jason paids for him and Elizabeth as the two of them find a table.

"You didn't have to do, Jason,, Elizabeth said.

"Well, you had a long trip," Jason said.  "It's the least I can do."

"Thank you.  That's very sweet of you."

As Elizabeth watches Jason pours cream and two cups of sugar into his coffee and stirred it up, she remembers all the things he has done for her and never ask for anything in return.  Jason does them because he wants to.

The two of them found a table and sit down.  Elizabeth tells Jason about what happened after he left Port Charles-- her engagement to Lucky; him being controlled by Helena; how she, Nikolas, and Gia helped faked her death.  Jason is there as always to listen to her as her friend and confidant.

"So, how did you find me?" Jason asks.

"I called Sonny,, Elizabeth responds.  "He was shocked to find out I was still alive, but he won't say anything to anybody-- especially Carly.  Sonny told me where you were and I asked him how you were since we last saw each other.  He said you were okay, and that you kept in touch with him, Carly, and Michael since you left town.  I thought about you from time to time since-- wondering where you are, what you're doing, how you're doing, of if you're dead or alive."

"I thought about you, too," Jason said.  "Every single day-- when I'm riding.  Or even when I see paintings, I think of you.  When I'm here, I'm always thinking of you."

Elizabeth tried to hide her blushing, but couldn't.  "I came to Italy for one reason only," she said.

"What's that?" Jason asks.

"To see you.  I want to know if we're okay."

Jason is confused.  "We're okay," he said.  "Why would you think we're not?"

"Because I hurt you.", said Elizabeth.  "I chose Lucky over you.  You warned me and I didn't listen.  I didn't want to believe you because I love Lucky so much that I was too blind to see the truth.  And I--"

"Stop.  I'm not angry at you.  I can never be angry at you.  Never.  I wanted you to be happy-- even if it's with Lucky.  Don't you know what you are to me?"

When Elizabeth heard Jason said that, it brought back the memories of their almost kisses-- especially the one at the park in Port Charles.

"Yes" responds Elizabeth. "I do."

"Good," said Jason.

"Still, I want to say I'm sorry.  I care about you, Jason, so much.  You are my best friend and a very important part of my life, and I will never forget what you have done for me.  I don't want to lose you."

"You're not going to lose me because we'll always be friends no matter what."

Jason and Elizabeth holds their hands dearly knowing that after what he said, everything will be okay.  As long as they're together, nothing or no one will ever break the strong bond between them.
