Judyth Piazza Jams with Creator of Vocab Rock, Keith London

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

Fusing hip-hop, rock and R&B, unique learning tool aims to improve college-bound students` vocabulary skills

Thomson Peterson`s, a leading provider of education and career guidance, has partnered with Defined Mind, Inc., a dynamic author and independent music producer, to publish Vocab Rock: Musical Preparation for the SAT and ACT. Vocab Rock, a combination of a CD with 12 original songs and a vocabulary-building book, will be available in April wherever books are sold.

Playing to students` love of music, Vocab Rock fuses real hip-hop, rock and other music genres with expressive lyrics and an accompanying book that helps build vocabulary and improve reading comprehension skills. Defined Mind`s Vocab Rock was created by certified education professionals and independent musicians. An affordable and effective learning tool for students who are preparing for the SAT and ACT exams, Vocab Rock is likely to build a strong following among college-bound teenagers.

"Defined Mind is dedicated to creating teaching tools that resonate with students and encourage success," said Keith London, author and Executive Producer of Defined Mind, Inc. "We strive to ensure that young adults are given the single most important key to their futures "literacy. I am very proud to have a partner as esteemed as Thomson Peterson`s; they share our vision to make "smart` cool, and just as importantly, to make "smart` a reality for today`s students."

Del Franz, Editor in Chief for Thomson Peterson`s, added, "Defined Mind`s vision, tremendous creativity, and strong academic credibility have established them as the standard in the field and we`re very excited to be working with them. We`re looking forward to bringing their work to a much broader audience, continuing Thomson Peterson`s tradition of innovation in education."

DEFINED MIND/2

Praised by Harvard and Columbia Universities, MTV, and The New York Times, Defined Mind, Inc.`s 12 original songs work in conjunction with the book in building and reinforcing students` knowledge of more than 300 key vocabulary words found in the songs` lyrics. As each song`s chapter progresses, students encounter the same words in different contexts, offering multiple opportunities to build their test-taking confidence and literacy skills.

Vocab Rock, published by Thomson Peterson`s, will be available in April 2006 at leading national retail book outlets at a suggested retail price of $17.00.
