Gift Ideas for your Significant Other

Gift Ideas for your Significant Other

By Janera Fedrick

It`s about time to figure out what to get your significant other for Christmas. The dilemma: You want to get them the best gift ever, but at the same time, you don`t want to but a hole in your wallet. Well, here are some suggestions that will not only land you a kiss under the mistletoe but are also affordable.

For your boyfriend or husband, you can skip the frilly teddy bear holding the giant heart and the flowers. If your well is looking a little dry, then get your guy a cool CD featuring his favorite artists. Or you can put together a compilation CD of his favorite tunes. Also, include some songs that remind you of him. If you`re looking to spend a little extra dough, then concert tickets are an excellent gift idea.

Dress your guy up this Christmas by buying him a new addition to his wardrobe. Grab him something that`s both functional yet stylish from his favorite store. There are a lot of sales going on this month, so take advantage of them.

If your guy is really into sports, then get him a new football, hockey stick, or other sports equipment. You could also get him paraphernalia from his favorite team. Or score tickets to a sporting event.  You could also buy him that video game that he`s been fantasizing about. If you want to go above and beyond, buy him the new Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii.

Nothing says I love you " like a homemade Christmas gift. Show off your creative side by making him a holiday card or a personalized gift like a batch of his favorite cookies.

If you can sew, throw together some pajama pants or boxer shorts.

Or if you`re an artist, put together an art project such as a mural or a collage or a scrapbook.

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that are made especially for us. It shows that we really care . After all, it is the thought that counts.

This idea is also good for a wife or girlfriend.

For your wife or girlfriend, you can create a basket of gifts that appeal to all five senses.

Keep her warm with a soft scarf, cute mittens, or big fuzzy slippers.

Really wow her by whipping her up a batch of cookies. Store bought cookies will also do the trick.

Scented candles, sweet-smelling perfume or a yummy lotion from Bath and Body works or another store are a perfect gift. This season, many stores have gift baskets that include lotions, perfumes, as well as free gifts with your purchase.

Fetch a set of DVDs from her favorite show. Or buy her a book. The sweetest thing to catch her eye is a funky picture frame holding a cute picture of the two of you.

As stated earlier, a new CD from her favorite artist is definitely a great gift. You could also create a mixed CD with all of her favorite songs plus some that remind you of her.

These suggestions can also be modified for a guy. Just nix the scented candles, yummy lotion, and fuzzy slippers.

So, good luck on your Christmas shopping and Happy Holidays.
