Buffy and Angel graduate in season three of Buffy on DVD

By Garrett Godwin

Senior year of high school became a time of life-changing decisions and growing up when the third season of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer is available on DVD. This season finds Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and her friends facing graduation of high school, going to college, and making the transition to adulthood.

Episode highlights of season three includes "Faith, Hope and Trick", "Homecoming", "Revelations", "Lover's Walk", "The Wish", "Amends", "Gingerbread", "Helpless", "The Zeppo", "Bad Girls", "Consequences", "Doppelgangland", "Enemies", "Choices", "The Prom", and the two-part finale, "Graduation Day".

Available on DVD, all 22 episodes of season three are available including special features such as cast and crew interviews and plenty of extras.

This is the season where the characters come into their own.  For instance, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) becomes a budding witch.  Season three marks the debut of sexy, rogue Slayer Faith (Eliza Dushku), straight-laced Watcher Wesley Wyndham-Price (Alexis Densof), and quirky, vengeful demon Anya (Emma Caulfield).

During this season, you'll discover the differences between Buffy and Faith.  Whereas Buffy is about fighting the good fight against evil, Faith is all about the kill.  Buffy knows right from wrong, and so does Faith -- but she doesn't care.  If Buffy is a heroine, then Faith is an anti-heroine/complex villainess.

Season three also faced some controversies due to the Columbine shootings in 1999.  For instance, the episode "Earshot", finds Buffy having the ability to read people's thoughts after a fight with a demon, leading to a student planning to commit suicide.  The conclusion of "Graduation Day" finds Sunnydale High being blown up at the end.

This is the season where the tragic romance between Buffy and Angel (David Boreanaz) comes to an end, taking them into different directions.  Though they won't be together, these star-crossed soul mates will never, ever be apart.
