Vestige of the Vox Populi # 47

Vestige of the Vox Populi # 47

By Sean Stubblefield

Henry Rollins.

Musician, writer, actor, spoken word comedian, social commentator/activist, talk show host, friend of Bill Shatner.

And my hero.

On his self named talk show, Henry has a segment aptly called Teeing Off, which is a ranting monologue with typical Rollins caustic intensity and clever Nietzschean insight. A play on words, the title “Teeing Off” infers being ticked off-- and perhaps ticking us off with him, as well as a golf term suggesting a launching off point. In this clip from a recent episode, he criticizes American news media, challenging us to not stop caring about what goes on in the world.

The implication, as always, is that we have the capacity and responsibility of influence.
