Go Now: March 11, 2008

By Garrett Godwin

This is Go Now, the show bringing the latest on the addictive world of entertainment, and on this edition, we're going to be traveling once again to the Stargate. Release on DVD today is Stargate: The Ark of Truth.  The film picks up where season 10 of Stargate SG-1 left off, finding Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell (Ben Browder), Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), Col. Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping), Teal'c (Christopher Judge), Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black), and Gen. Hank Landry (Beau Bridges) on a mission to find an artifact that could be the key in stopping the powerful Ori and saving the universe once again.

The DVD is loaded with extras that includes a behind-the-scenes look of the movie as audio commentary from cast and crew.

SCIFI Weekly has given this film an "A-", and if you want to know more, then go online at

On the other side of the galaxy, People's Choice Winner Stargate Atlantis has been renewed for a 20-episode fifth season.  However, cast changes will be made, when Robert Picardo joins the series full-time as the new head of Atlantis, Richard Woolsey.  Also coming as a regular is Jewel Staite as Dr. Jennifer Keller, and fan favorites Paul McGillion and Michael Shanks will be coming to Atlantis once again in their roles of Carson Beckett and Daniel Jackson.

Due to her interactive webseries Sanctuary being picked up as a full-length series, both Amanda Tapping and Col. Carter will be on recurring status.  Sanctuary has been greenlit by the SCIFI Channel for a 13-episode commitment.

Stargate Atlantis will return with brand-new episodes this fall Friday nights at 10pm on the SCIFI Channel.

On SCIFI today at 5pm comes season one's "Suspicion" from Stargate Atlantis, where the Atlantis team sets out to find the spy within the Lost City of the Ancients.  At 6pm comes season four's "Window of Opportunity" from Stargate SG-1.  This fan favorite episode finds Col. O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) and Teal'c caught in a time loop, and this is a must-see for O'Neill/Carter fans.

Well, that is all the time we have here today, so thanks for joining me.  And don't forget to check out Del Marbrook's "Hot Copy" segments as well as The American Perspective with the lovely, beautiful, and talented Judyth Piazza, here on the SOP at
