The Dark Knight joins the $500 million club

By Garrett Godwin

It may not be the number-one movie anymore, but The Dark Knight has reached another milestone, as the summer blockbuster hit the mark of $500 million dollars at the domestic box office over this Labor Day weekend.

The Batman Begins sequel is now already the second movie in the history of Hollywood to gross more than half a billion dollars, and could be the biggest movie of 2008. But despite breaking box office records over the summer, The Dark Knight may not have enough wings be the highest-grossing film of all time, as the film has already taken in $504.7 million.

So, that means Titanic is still king of the box office gross at $601 million.
