Kelly Clarkson Sets Record

Kelly Clarkson Sets Record

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Kelly Clarkson`s been dreaming of another moment like this for a long time.

The erstwhile American Idol has kicked off her comeback with one for the history books as her new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," not only became the first No. 1 with suck in the title, but also made the largest leap to the top slot in Hot 100 history.

The Max Martin- and Dr. Luke-crafted song jumped 96 spots, beating the previous biggest move, Britney Spears` recent 95-spot jump for `Womanizer.`"

Most critics expected Kelly Clarkson to be a flash in the pan, but she has released respected albums that also yielded a lot of hits. The American Idol franchise is very lucky that its first winner is a genuine talent and bonafide superstar.

Clarkson has managed to avoid the pitfalls of success, she hasn`t succumbed to drugs, alcohol, anorexia or wanton sexuality. Clarkson is a great role model for young girls, and I wish her continued success.

I`m glad that the talented and level-headed Clarkson beat the record set by the talentless bimbo Britney Spears.

The pop charts would suck without any input from Clarkson, may she rule the charts for decades to come.
