Jamie Foxx Apologizes For Bashing Miley Cyrus

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Actor Jamie Foxx, who`d recently insulted Miley Cyrus on his Sirius satellite radio show, made a public apology to the 16-year-old superstar when he visited Jay Leno last night on The Tonight Show. "I so apologize to [Miley], and this is sincere," the Oscar winner told Leno. `I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don`t mean any of it. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.`"EW.Com

Jamie Foxx insulted Miley Cyrus in a profane and obscene manner, and yesterday I wrote an editorial criticizing him.

Entertainers, politicians and anyone else in the public spotlight is fair game, and I don`t hold anything back in my editorials when I ridicule a Britney Spears or mock a Sarah Palin.

But no pundit, columnist or comic should ever (under any circumstances) savagely ridicule a child. Miley may be a world famous gazillionaire, but she`s still a child and comics should refrain from attacking her.

Last night Foxx sincerely and humbly apologized for his crude and blistering attack on Miley Cyrus, and I give him props for admitting his mistake.

Comics and wise guy pundits sometimes say things we don`t really mean, and when we cross the line we should quickly apologize.
