Mike Tyson's Daughter Dies After Horrible Accident

Mike Tyson's Daughter Dies After Horrible Accident

By Robert Paul Reyes

Mike Tyson is a complex and compelling figure -- his life bears examination and reflection. From street thug to world heavyweight boxing champion, to a freak show, Iron Mike`s roller coaster life has been chronicled by the media and biographers.

There is talk of Jamie Foxx starring in a movie based on Mike Tyson, but in the meantime we can watch in fascination James Toback`s documentary about the troubled boxer.

The ageing pugilist had had many lows: Conviction for r*pe, arrests for DUI and felony drug possession, and bankruptcy are just a few of the lowlights.

I`m a boxing fan, but I`m not a Tyson apologist. Tyson has only himself to blame for his many woes.

Toback`s documentary about Tyson has been getting rave reviews, and the former undisputed heavyweight champion finally seemed to be at peace with himself and his tarnished legacy.

And then suddenly tragedy once again strikes:

"The boxing bad boy`s 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, is currently on life support after getting her neck tangled in a cord from a treadmill in her Phoenix home Monday.

Police say Exodus was playing on the exercise machine at the time of the mishap. Her 7-year-old brother discovered her and called for his mother, who was cleaning in a separate room at the moment of the accident. She called 911, and the child was taken to St. Joseph`s Hospital. (Police have not released the mother`s name.)

Tyson, 42, was in Las Vegas at the time, but has since arrived in Phoenix to be by his daughter`s side." EOnline/BREANNE L. HELDMAN

Last night Tyson`s daughter died. This is a horror that wasn`t Tyson`s fault, and I hope that the press will allow him to grieve in private. Tyson`s supporters and critics wish him the best at this diffiuclt time.
