American Idol's Adam Lambert: Terrific Role Model

American Idol's Adam Lambert: Terrific Role Model

By Robert Paul Reyes

"`American Idol`s` runner-up Adam Lambert`s personal life has been a hot topic with blogs, paparazzi and major magazines ever since he first took the Idol stage earlier this year - and the rocker is fine with the world continuing to guess about whether or not he is gay.

`It`s a really, really cool thing,` Adam told People, `to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you`re about, and never make apologies for it.`

As for those fans wondering if he`s gay or not - `Calm down,` he said, and `keep speculating.`

Adam Lambert has neither confirmed nor denied that he`s a homosexual, but I will go out on a limb and say that he`s gay. If a dude wears eyeliner and nail polish, and dresses in drag, - chances are that`s he`s a homosexual.

I don`t mean to imply that most gays dress in drag, and are flamboyant exhibitionists, but there is a subculture in the homosexual community that exhibits those traits.

I also don`t mean to suggest that there`s anything wrong with being homosexual, God blessed Adam Lambert, he is a gifted performer and a wonderful role model.

If there`s a god in heaven Adam Lambert should have won the American Idol competition in a landslide, he had the whole package: Charisma, exceptional singing ability and a pleasing personality. Adam accepted his loss with grace and humility, heaping praise on the winner. That`s why I say that Adam is a good role model; he`s humble in spite of his tremendous talent.

Adam, keep being yourself, that`s why your fans appreciate you so much.
