Controversial Painting Of Madonna To Be Auctioned

"A nude painting of Madonna and Guy Ritchie by a Glasgow artist is up for auction - but neither is likely to buy it!

Matthews says she looks like a flabby bodybuilder, while he looks like a Shrek - Frankenstein cross.

In other words it`s not an abstract or impressionistic painting of the ageing pop diva, but an accurate and faitfull depiction. Thank goodness it`s a painting and not a photograph, a nude photo of Madonna would be scarier than Frankenstein. In February a nude photograph of Madonna taken in 1979 sold for thousands of dollars, a photo of the pop star taken today would sell for considerably less.

Madonna and Ritchie aren`t likely to purchase the painting, and neither will anyone else. The proper venue for selling this grotesque work by Peter Howson isn`t an auction house, but eBay or a flea market.

The acution will take place May 31, 2009, they should postpone it until Oct 31.
