Rep. Peter King Goes Ballistic: Calls Michael Jackson "Pervert"
"Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., is causing a stir with a YouTube video that decries pop icon Michael Jackson as a `pervert` and a `low-life.` King, standing in front of an American Legion Hall, recalls the "great men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country." He calls on the media to stop "glorifying" Jackson: "To be giving this much coverage to him day in and day out -- what does it say about our country?"
King does acknowledge, however, that the entertainer `may have been a good singer` and `did some dancing.`"
Michael Jackson was arguably the most successful recording artist in history, an entertainer who was loved all over the world, a philanthropist, and a very astute businessman.
Michael Jackson shattered the MTV color barrier in the 80`s, and people of all races and creeds danced to the infectious beat of his music. Michael Jackson was a uniter not a divider, and he deserves all the praise and recognition that he is receiving from the media and from his adoring fans.
The King of Pop may have been a bit eccentric, but he wasn`t a pervert or a low-life. Rep. King dismisses Jackson by saying: He may have been a good singer and did some dancing. That`s as absurd as saying: Babe Ruth may have been a good ballplayer, and he hit a few home runs.
I wouldn`t call Rep. King a pervert or a low-life, but he is a clown and an idiot.
