The King Of Pop To Be Buried Without His Brain
"Michael Jackson will be buried without his brain today after doctors retained it following an autopsy to help determine the cause of death.
The King of Pop will be saluted in grand fashion at the Staples Centre memorial ceremony, and reportedly laid to rest at Los Angeles`s Forest Lawn cemetery. However, the LA coroner`s office has still not completed its tests on Jackson`s brain, and the singer`s family have been advised that unless they wish to wait, he must be buried without it." http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/jul/07/michael-jackson-buried-brain
It`s macabre and unsettling that the King of Pop will be laid to rest without his brain, but pathologists need Jackson`s brain to help determine the cause of death.
I wish we could study the Gloved One`s brain to understand the creative process that gave the world so many pop masterpieces.
But it`s not only the King of Pop`s brain but his heart that also bears examination. The heart that gave money to so many charities, and was big enough to cover all his fans with love.
The private funeral and the memorial service will be a closed-casket affair -- Michael Jackson`s brain-less corpse won`t be subjected to voyeurs and photographers.
Today Michael Jackson`s fans all over the world remember the man and the music. May the King of Pop live forever!
