Sand Sculpture Tribute To The King Of Pop
"A sand sculpture has been made of Michael Jackson as a tribute to the singer.
The artwork was constructed in a shopping centre in Berlin, Germany, and features the singer surrounded by album artwork and other images.
It took nearly 200 tonnes of sand to make the sculpture, which will remain on show until July next year." The Press Association
The Iowa State Fair may have decided not to pay homage to the King of Pop by sculpting his likeness in butter, but a Michael Jackson fashioned from sand stands tall in Berlin.
The King of Pop has also been sculpted in clay by French artist Jean-Baptiste Seckler, and a new wax figure of Jackson has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
All the likenesses of the King of Pop in wax, clay and sand are impressive, but they can`t compete with the image of a Michael Jackson in his prime that will forever live in our minds and in our hearts.
The sand sculpture of Michael Jackson will last for only a short time, and it reminds us that gifted entertainers are only here for a short time, and we should appreciate every great performance and every masterpiece album
