Michael Jackson Movie Will Hit Theatres Oct. 30

Michael Jackson Movie Will Hit Theatres Oct. 30

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Michael Jackson will be hitting the big screen on one of the toughest dates of the year at the box office.

Sony Pictures today confirmed the long-reported deal that it is joining with Sony Music Entertainment to release a movie featuring behind-the-scenes and rehearsal footage from preparation for the late singer`s `This Is It` concert series in London."

The King of Pop ruled the pop charts during his long and illustrious career, but he never conquered the box office. Jackson starred in the Francis Ford Coppola-directed 3-D film Captain EO, but it played mainly in Disney theme parks. The pop icon also starred in the 1978 musical "The Wiz", but it bombed at the box office.

But now in death the Thriller may finally be the King of the Movies. Most critics expect "This Is It" to be box office gold, people can`t seem to get enough of anything having to do with Michael Jackson.

I believe that before his death Jackson was on the verge of a huge comeback. I wanted to see him in concert, but I never got the chance. "This Is It", will be the next best thing to watching him perform live.

Some of the scenes will be in digital 3D, that`s almost as good as watching the King of Pop performing live.
