"Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, will take her message to Fox News as a regular commentator.
`I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,`` Palin said in a statement posted yesterday on the network`s website. "It`s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.``
Palin will offer political commentary and analysis, Fox said. Under the multi-year deal, she also will host occasional episodes of Fox News `Real American Stories,`` a series featuring inspirational stories about Americans." Read More
Sarah Palin and Fox News are a perfect fit; Palin is indistinguishable from the Fox News bevy of vacuous bimbo reporters and anchors.
Both parties will benefit, Fox will get a spike in the ratings, and Palin will get a national platform to promote herself.
Some pundits believe that Palin`s decision to sign a multi-year deal with Fox News means that she isn`t running for president in 2012. If a politician who has been hired by a network declares herself to be a candidate for political office, she is promptly relieved of her reporting duties.
Palin`s three year deal with Fox doesn`t preclude her from seeking higher office. A contract means nothing to Palin, she will quit her Fox News gig in a heartbeat to run for higher office if she believes she has a viable chance in 2012. Have we forgotten so quickly that Palin quit her job as governor of Alaska to cash in on her fame?
However, I don`t think Palin is going to run for president in 2012. Reading from a teleprompter is a hell of a lot easier than debating the eloquent and erudite Barack Obama.
At Fox News Palin is in her element, the former beauty queen and Brit Hume can take a tag-team approach to converting Tiger Woods to Christianity. Palin can co-host a couple of programs with Glenn Beck, and they can inspire the teabaggers to commit wanton acts of stupidity. Palin can appear on her pal Sean Hannity`s program, and stir up racial hatred against President Obama. Palin can even do a segment with Shepard Smith, and the prima donnas can discuss hair styling tips and the proper use of mascara and eyeliner. Palin and the other Fox News hotties can have a prime time mud wrestling special, which would blow CNN and MSNBC out of the water.
Sarah Palin has never been more than eye candy, and I plan on getting an eyeful of her at Fox News.
