Rocking Out To John Denver Is A Crime

By Robert Paul Reyes

"In Fond du Lac, Wis., a man was cited by police for `rocking out` too loudly - to the music of John Denver, the late folk-rocker.

A cop who responded to a noise complaint said he could hear the music through the door and that the man couldn`t hear when he pounded on his door.

John Denver is a staple in radio stations that have a "soft rock" format, indeed the late folk rocker is the epitome of laid-back rock.

I can understand someone rocking out to Led Zeppelin or AC/DC, but it`s just wrong to rock out to the bespectacled crooner.

Whenever I hear Denver on the radio (not bloody often), I feel like smoking a joint and blowing bubbles, the fey singer certainly doesn`t inspire me to "rock out."

It should be a felony to play John Denver at full blast, I hope the John Denver-loving lawbreaker spends at least a few months behind bars.
