M.I.A Slams Lady Gaga
"M.I.A has lashed out at Lady GaGa once again, saying that she can`t bear the thought that people are now calling her name. Lady Gaga is a unique and revolutionary figure that we see only once in a generation in the world of music. Lady Gaga has donned a couple of Madonna-inspired outfits, but it`s her way of paying homage to the Queen of Pop. Gaga is a trendsetter as a fashionista and as a performer, it`s unfair and untrue to call her a copycat.
The rapper claimed that GaGa has copied the likes of Madonna, but will never match up to her unique style.
She told Y2K Daily: `I can`t talk about Gaga anymore. All I`ll say is, it`s upsetting when babies say ga-ga now. It used to be innocent. Now, they`re calling her name. You can`t really say that Gaga is culturally a change.`"
M.I.A will be missing in action from the Billboard charts if she doesn`t keep her jealousy in check. The rapper should forget about Lady Gaga, and focus on her own career.
But I do agree with M.I.A that it is somewhat disconcerting to hear a baby say "gaga." Before Lady Gaga came along, the word "gaga" conjured images of purity, innocence and fun. Now when I hear the word less wholesome images come to my mind.
