Did Actress Jodie Foster Assault Teen Photographer?

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The family of a 17-year-old teenager has accused Oscar winner Jodie Foster of being rough with the boy after he snapped photographs of the Oscar-winning actress and her sons outside a movie theater.

jodie fosterFoster`s spokeswoman fired back on Friday that the `young man was most definitely a professional paparazzo.`

`She did touch him on the arm to try to take him aside to talk to him and tell him to stop` taking pictures, the actress` spokeswoman, Jennifer Allen, told Reuters." Rueters

Jodie Foster is an Academy Award winning actress, a respected director, and a successful producer. Foster stays away from popular clubs and restaurants that attract photographers. The talented actress places a high premium on her privacy.

However, in this age of TMZ, 24 hour cable news outlets, and millions of cell phones equipped with video cameras it`s unrealistic for anyone, especially celebrities, to expect any privacy.

The 17-year-old kid, regardless if he`s an amateur or a professional, had every right to take photographs of Foster. Foster enjoys the privilege of making millions producing, directing and acting in films, and the teen has a right to make a few bucks selling the Foster pics to a tabloid or a Web site.

Jodie admits touching the youth on the arm -- any unwanted touching, especially in the context of a dispute, is considered an assault. I have tremendous respect for Foster, but she`s clearly in the wrong, and she should be charged with assault and battery.
