Judyth Piazza chats with Kevin Bar, Associate Producer of The Mini

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

Kevin Bar was born in Long Beach, IN, and attended Indiana University.  While at university, a nationally aired documentary he made caught the attention of writer/director Ron Beck who was moving back to Indiana to film his feature comedy.  He hired Kevin and six other IU students as interns.

Kevin worked as a producer through the completion of the film, and while it was being edited he got an internship with MTV, which soon turned into a job with MTV International in New York.  He`s worked on the Int`l production teams of the some of the biggest events of the year, and is now involved with the news operations for Int`l.  He was recently working in London, managering operations for a world wide news show.

Aside from MTV, he`s worked as a producer/shooter for the music site Uncensored Interivew, and he continues to write screenplays. Currenlty, an action-adventure script he wrote with Mini director Ron Back is now in development at Nickelodeon. He`s also written a follow-up to The Mini, which he hopes will be getting off the ground soon.

Newly DVD-released independent comedy The Mini from first-time writer/director Ron Beck. The film is surprising critics across the country as it draws comparisons to Napoleon Dynamite, Rocky and Clerks while being called hilarious ", a charmer " and delightfully funny ". The Mini is a $25,000 feature film produced entirely by first time filmmakers and a skeleton crew of college interns that caught the attention of comedy legend John Landis who called it a "very funny, heart-warming comedy". The film is now widely available at most Blockbusters nationally as of its May 11, 2010 release date.
