Polar Bears vs. Sea Turtles

By SOP newswire2

Polar bears drowning as the sea ice they need to survive melts away. Sea turtles, pelicans and other wildlife coated in oil, poisoned in their homes as the result of America`s addition to oil.

It doesn`t have to be this way.
And this Thursday, Democratic senators will meet to help decide on their plan for America`s energy future.

Take action now. Please urge your senator to support comprehensive climate legislation " without dangerous new offshore drilling.

Democratic senators, who are in the Senate majority and therefore control its agenda, are meeting this week to discuss their priorities for the remainder of the Congress, and the fate of comprehensive legislation to address climate change hangs in the balance.

Climate change jeopardizes the future of America`s threatened polar bears, lynx and the survival of thousands of species. [1] Yet, some Democratic senators are pushing for more dangerous offshore drilling as a condition for their vote " even in the wake of the Gulf oil disaster, the largest in U.S. history.

Tell Democrats to take a stand against Big Oil. Urge your senator to say Yes! " to legislation to address climate change and No! " to more dirty drilling.

merica can and must pass comprehensive legislation to address climate change now threatening our polar bears and other wildlife " and do so without perpetuating the dangerous dependence on fossil fuels that led to the ecological catastrophe that`s now killing sea turtles, brown pelicans and other wildlife in the Gulf.

Democrats will meet on the climate bill in just 48 hours, so please contact your Democratic senator(s) now and demand immediate action to protect our polar bears, sea turtles and other wildlife.

Last year, Big Oil spent millions of dollars lobbying against climate change legislation and for more drilling off our coasts.

It`s time for Democrats to decide which is more important: Big Oil`s influence or the unspoiled wild places and wildlife that is the birthright of our children and grandchildren.

Please make your voice heard today. You can be certain that Big Oil will.
