Kathy Casey a fan of bacon?

Hello and Happy New Year!  I enjoyed several days off and like many of you am ready for what 2009 brings me. " I am hoping lots of yummy food treats!  Recently I had the privilege of speaking with celebrity chef, mixologist and pioneer in the bar-chef movement Kathy Casey!


Kathy has played a key role in bringing Northwest cuisine and women chefs to national prominence and, as one of the first female executive chefs in the United States, she was named one of Food & Wine`s hot new American chefs.

Kathy is a sought-after speaker, celebrated as a style setter and trend spotter in food, drinks and entertaining. She has been featured at such events as the Cheers Beverage Conference, the Vegas Bar Show, and the Research Chefs Association convention, and is a frequent guest on TV and radio.

An accomplished food writer, she is the author of nine cookbooks, including the James Beard Award-nominated Kathy Casey`s Northwest Table. Her newest book, Sips & Apps, will be released in spring 2009.  She told us that this book will feature a Bacon Blue Cheese Cookie!  This is something I can`t wait to try as it certainly has some unique flavor profiles present.


Kathy is the owner of Kathy Casey Food Studios® and Liquid Kitchenâ„¢; her company specializes in food, beverage and concept consulting and product development. Clients such as Monin, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels, Mastronardi Produce, Friday`s, Restaurants Unlimited, Unilever, Monterey Gourmet Foods, and national spirit brands have sought her advice and expertise.
