September 17, 2009 Bacon Takes Center Stage - Bacon Freak Back in January of this year I became acquainted with Rocco Loosbrock, founder of Bacon Freak, by chance on twitter (@baconcandy). Except for perhaps vegans, I don`t really know of anyone who doesn`t enjoy a crispy slice of bacon. As a child, sometimes my mom would take me to the `pork store` in town and purchase a slab from the butcher. However, like most middle class families, the majority of our bacon purchases were made when we went grocery shopping. We`d stroll down the refrigerated aisle, stopping where all the pre-packaged bacon was, and begin opening that little trap door on the back to check em out. The goal of course, to find the package with bacon strips that were more meat than fat.
