In With the Inny

In With the Inny

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

If you want to get a jump-start on the hottest new trend in cosmetic surgery before it becomes "so last season," then listen up. Forget nose jobs and boob jobs, the hottest new craze in cosmetic surgery is the inny.

Women are going bonkers over Britney Spears` bellybutton. Britney`s bellybutton-baring half-shirts and skimpy clothes have made inny buttons a new rage, and some women are enthusiastically going under the knife to get their own inny.

New York City Cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Bruce Nadler also known as the chief of Navel Operations was quoted as saying that he has tweaked as many as 60 bellybuttons in the last two years. Dr. Nadler says that he looks to the arts for his inspiration to sculpt the perfect belly button, "Even going as far as taking a look at some of the classical statues and taking time to look at their perfectly crafted belly buttons." This cosmetic surgical procedure is known as umbilicoplasty, with an average cost around $2,500.

Sculpting the perfect navel first became popular in Japan where the shape of a belly button is revered and is said to say a lot about a person. However, in the United States, umbilicoplasty is about popularity, not personality.

Now those unfortunate individuals cursed with an eye aching outy can make life worth living again with a $2,500 bellybutton reconstruction surgery, so now, thankfully they will have a place to store their lint.
