Jay E. Morrow currently resides in Kingston, Wash., with his wife Malia. Morrow was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, and went to school at the University of Washington, where he obtained two Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry and oceanography.

Morrow worked for many years as a maintenance manager at the Bangor Naval base, and has published many technical manuals throughout his career. In his free time Morrow enjoys writing, travel, computers, diving, and reading historical nonfiction and novels.

Driven to succeed, the author is derailed during 2008, his fifty fourth year. A frightening series of incidents led to the writer dying, being fired illegally, surviving a coma, and spending over four months in the hospital. Covering the good points and failures of western medicine, the writer tells the story of this year and learned the essential lessons concerning how to survive the hospital and western medicine.
