Why Do People Believe In Horoscopes?

By Henry Ocansey

Why do people believe in horoscopes? I could never understand how the month you were born could have anything to do with your personality. Isn`t personality is part genetics and part upbringing?

People actually spend a lot of time reading them, and I have always thought there was something strange about that. First of all, the horoscope pertaining to the month I was born is sometimes right and sometimes wrong. However, even when it is somewhat accurate I find that it is too general, and the advice it gives could easily be given to half the population of any country. Each month I find that I could fit into several other signs, and vice versa.

Aries is anyone born between March 21 and April 19. Leo is July 23 to August 22, and Capricorn is December 22 to January 19. I know people who are these signs, yet the signs do not fit them. There is no meaning that I ever found to your personality deriving from the month you were born. It might be better to use the birthday of the doctor who delivered you.

The advice they give for each sign is good advice for everyone else, and perhaps that is why people keep reading them.
