Fresh from the oven

By Askin Ozcan (Mentor)

A Black Sea Turk receives a scholarship to spend three months in the U.S.A. to acquaint himself with the American way of life. At the end of his stay, the program Director asks him:

"Did you enjoy your stay in the U.S.A.?"

"Yes, very much" answers Mehmet.

"What did you like best in the U.S.A?"

"People`s friendliness, the social life, parties, especially the birthday parties. I got a lot of presents in my birthday party."

"We sing a special song in the birthday parties. Did you learn that too?"

"Yes, I did."

"Let me check on that. How many letters  `L` are there in that song?"

Mehmet counts while his mind passes through the melody.

"Twenty four !" he says.

"Oh no, " says the program Director. "There isn`t even one letter `L` in that song."

"Sure there is" says Mehmet, " La la la la la la, la la la la la la. La la la la la la. La la la la la la.
