Don't Miss it! State Gov't Journalism Conference-in Indiana
Hello. We want to make sure you know about the 2009 Capitolbeat conference, an Aug. 20-22 gathering in Indianapolis that`s specifically intended for reporters and editors covering state government--though it`s open to anyone who wants to attend.
If you`ve already signed up, that`s great. If not, now`s the time. Our early bird registration rate of $125 has been extended through the end of July. Students get a bigger break, a $75 rate.
Based at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, the conference also offers a Saturday-only registration rate for those of you who are super-busy.
The conference will help new and seasoned reporters get ready for the hot topics of 2010:
- Post-recession fallout
- Health care reforms and Medicaid
- Gaming expansions as a state revenue source
- Higher education funding
If you want to, you also can learn more about the impeachment and Senate trial of ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich from the lead prosecutor in the proceeding, David Ellis.
But don`t worry. Not all topics are heavy. We`ll also have panels about utilizing Twitter, posting audio files, blogging, even writing resumes.
For more conference details and to sign up, check out our Web site:
Know anybody else who`d benefit from the conference? Make sure they know about it.
Thanks for your time.
