Spiritual Battle and Victory Caught on Tape in Recent Murder Confession
By Mark Frederic Jennings
In a scene described as, "horrific," by Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk, six bodies were found Saturday in a North Naples, Florida, home. The throats of Guerline Damas, 32; and her five children -- Michzach, 9; Marven, 6; Maven, 5; Megan, 3; and Morgan, 11 months, were slashed, according to Headline News. The husband of Guerline and father to the five children, Mesac Damas, 32, was in the Collier County Jail late Tuesday night. He had initially fled to Haiti after working Thursday night at a Naples restaurant.
The prayers of Mrs. Damas` family were then answered however. They most wanted Mr. Damas, their daughter`s husband, returned in custody, "to face what he has done and get justice for our sister and daughter and her children. We ask that you keep our family in your prayers," they pleaded. And it was while being returned to Naples to face charges that Mr. Damas admitted not only to killing his wife and children but also alluded to the spiritual forces that had impelled him to do so.
"Why would you kill them," a Naples reporter asks as the camera rolls in an exclusive video from the Daily Naples News.
"It`s the devil`s work," Damas explains, seemingly very coherent and controlled. "Do you believe in the devil," he then asks the reporter point blank. "Do you believe in Jesus Christ," he quickly adds too.
"Do you believe in Jesus Christ," the reporter asks him right back.
"I believe in Jesus Christ," Damas answers. "When I did it, my eyes were closed, now they`ve been opened."
"Are you going to heaven," the reporter finally asks.
"Right now? Yeah, right now," he answers.
