Medical Practitioners Charged with Murders

By Heidi Lopez

As we're all aware, Hurricane Katrina caused a huge devastation to New Orleans. It killed many with its harsh winds, brutal force, and its ability to bring down "the wall".  Never in a million years would one think that, in addition to this natural disaster, a doctor and 2 of her nurses would be charged with killing 4 patients through the use of a lethal drug cocktail.

According to Attorney General Charles C. Foti Jr., Dr. Anna Pou, Lori L. Budo, and Cheri Landry are now being charged for second-degree murder. Foti said "This is not euthanasia. It's homicide."

An affidavit shows that tests confirmed that a lethal morphine amount was given to 4 patients on September 1 age’s 62, 66, 89, and 90. It also showed that the morphine was combined with Versed, another drug that depresses the central nervous system.

Each of the accused was charged with four counts of second-degree murder, and they were all released on a $100,000 bond.

I know it's not just me, but why would these murderers be released, with bond, when there's even a hint of them violating their oath as medical practitioners? This country is going soft. Just because someone has a license to be in charge of others' health doesn't mean that they should get special treatment.
