OJ Simpson Sentenced To 15 Years To Life

By Robert Paul Reyes

"O.J. Simpson has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery.

Simpson, 61, and co-defendant Clarence `C.J.` Stewart were both sentenced to 15 years in prison at a court in Las Vegas. They will be eligible for parole after five years."

OJ Simpson

Christmas came a few weeks early for the Goldman and Brown families, OJ Simpson has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery. Simpson is not eligible for bail while he appeals his conviction, he will spend this Christmas and a few more in prison.

"Sentencing the pair Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass made clear she was not sentencing him for anything he had done previously - a clear reference to the killing of his wife 13 years ago."

I believe that the judge acted in good faith, I don`t think she took into consideration Simpson`s alleged crime of double homicide. This is not a case of a renegade judge exacting vengeance, it`s a sublime example of karma. In my opinion Simpson got away with double murder, and in gratitude he should have lived like a Boy Scout for the rest of his life. But in the 13 years since his acquittal of double murder the former gridiron star has had numerous scrapes with the law.

The OJ Simpson trial of the century 13 years ago was a case of black and white, America was racially polarized and it wasn`t surprising that an overwhelmingly black jury found OJ not guilty of murder. But this time it was a case of right and wrong, and the jury considered only the evidence and not the color of OJ`s skin.

We`ve come a long way in a few years, we`ve elected the first African American president, and a jury wasn`t swayed by a defendant`s skin color or celebrity.
