Mark Freedman's "A Warrant for My Arrest"
|
By Mark Freedman
So, today I received a letter in the mail from a law office in Big Springs Texas asking me to pay a $75 ticket, or else a warrant for my arrest will be issued by the Big Springs Criminal Court........
There is a tiny problem with this matter, and here is a copy of the motion I filed with the COURT and the LAW OFFICE......... (By the way, I live in Montana.)
I do hope you enjoy my article. I think it`s pretty funny.....................................

MUNICIPAL COURT OF THE CITY OF BIG SPRINGS, STATE OF TEXAS.
| MUNICIPAL COURT CITY OF BIG SPRINGS, STATE OF TEXAS vs. Mark Freedman | ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) | CASE NO: 055639-01 MOTION TO DISMISS TICKET AND CASE DOCKET 055639-01 |
I, Mark Freedman respectfully ask that this case be dismissed by the court by the honorable Judge in which this may concern. It is for these reasons listed below that I am asking this.
At the time that this ticket was issued, I was sixteen years old with NO license and NO car. I lived in Big Springs Texas for only four months with my ex-stepfather in 1998. I am positive that I have NEVER IN MY LIFE driven in the state of Texas. And If I had been, I especially would remember driving with "Defective Brakes" as stated in Docket 055639-01.
There is no way on earth I could have received a ticket, because I had no Drivers License or State ID at all, and no driving record until 1999 in the state of California, which leads me to wonder why a ticket for "Failure to have a license or Registration" in my name, was not issued to whomever claimed to be me. If it was my step dad that used my name, then he mostly likely did not give my birth date, or the cop would be issuing a ticket to a 51 year old teenager.
I am only 27 years old now. I did not receive a license until I was 17 and a half in the state of California city of Poway and the record of my driver`s license history shows that. If this was me, I should have been issued a ticket for NOT having a license, along with "Defective Brakes". So I do apologize, but this was not me.
I honestly am not sure if my step dad did this, but there is no other explanation that I can think of. He has been known to do things like that in the years after. If I would have known about this sooner than -ELEVEN YEARS LATER-, I would have contacted you prior to this date. Unfortunately I had absolutely no idea or recollection of this matter until receiving a letter today august 28th 2009 from the law offices of PerdueBrandonFielderCollins&Mott LLP. If this was my fault, I would gladly take responsibility.
I do appreciate your hard work and continuing hard work, but with the most sincere respects, I urge the court to grant this motion and thank you kindly in these matters! I HAVE SENT A COPY OF THIS MOTION TO: PerdueBrandonFielderCollins&Mott LLP.
Dated this 28th day of August, 2009
