Lionel "Z"

Originally from St. Louis Missouri, the "Z" Man, as he is affectionately called, says he gets his talent from his mother, who at the age of four was a child prodigy, playing piano at churches throughout southern Illinois.

Originally from St. Louis Missouri, the "Z" Man, as he is affectionately called, says he gets his talent from his mother, who at the age of four was a child prodigy, playing piano at churches throughout southern Illinois.

He has been described as one of the best front men in the business. His vocals and energy on stage excites audiences everywhere.

With his background as an emcee, choreographer, song writer and record producer, The "Z" Man honed his skills while singing with the very popular vocal group Paper Bag & Co. in St. Louis. He has also toured with the likes of B.B King, Redd Fox, The Isley Brothers and many more.

He has recorded for Stax Records in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Bang Records in Atlanta, Georgia and Paramount Recording Studio in Hollywood, California. His credits also include appearing in movies and opening for Redd Fox on the Las Vegas strip. Upon seeing Lionel perform for the first time. Redd Fox complimented him on his incredible showmanship and ability to sell a song.

His talent and experience as a song writer and producer are brilliantly displayed on the groups new smash single "What Happens in Vegas, Gets E-Mailed Home" which the group performs on their show with immense audience acceptance and participation.

Lionel was well prepared when hand picked to replace Cornell after his passing.


"No one can replace such a great talent as Cornell, all I can and will do is to respect his legacy and carry on the work of such a great talent with diligence and reverence for the Coaster name" the "Z" Man states.

Charlie "D"

Born in Tallulah, Louisiana, where his music career began, Charlie D`s unique talents as a first-class drummer,singer and stage personality have contributed to his success in every facet of the music industry.

Some of his many credits include appearing at the Apollo Theater in New York, playing with Wilson Pickett, BB King, Billy Preston, The Righteous Brothers and performing extensively with James Brown.

His appearances include TV shows such as"Club Shin-Dig" and Dick Clark`s "Where The Action Is". Charlie also appeared with Cornell Gunter & Teddy Harper in "Rock Around the Clock" and the hit movie "The Blues Brothers" with John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd

His performance at the Riviera Hotel with Louis Jordan certified Charlie as one of the youngest musician ever to perform on the Las Vegas Strip. At that time he was performing with his own group The Other Brothers, whose albums became #1 best-sellers in both Texas and California.

In 1962, Charlie met Cornell Gunter while performing at the Loser`s Club, Dallas, Texas. When The Other Brothers separated in 1963, he joined Cornell`s Coasters and toured the world. He soon became known as the "Charlie Brown" of the group, derived from their platinum album.

He was with the Cornell Gunter`s Coasters for 27 years until Cornell`s untimely death in February of 1990 at which time he obtained the rights by court decision to continue performing using the name "Cornell Gunter`s Coasters Inc."

Charlie D has dedicated his career to continuing the legacy of his friend Cornell and carries on as president of Cornell Gunter`s Coasters Inc. keeping the legend alive.

Tony "T"

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Tony is one of the most versatile and gifted singers of our time. He is a high energy performer with great stage presence.

At the tender age of seven he appeared to critical acclaim on "The Gene Carrol Show", a local variety show. His spiritual roots have allowed him to record some four albums with the gospel group Leviticus.

Tony started his singing career in the mid-eighties with Paul Sanderson and Bang Bang. He went on to perform and record with such artists as the Rue Boys, T&F, and Showtyme.

His experience has had him performing and recording various types of Jazz, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues and Rock & Roll all over the United States, as well as performing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. His family group "The Sounds of Integrity" are local legends in his hometown.

Tony, who in 2001 joined Cornell Gunter`s Coasters, quotes "To be a part of such a legendary group is a blessing"
