Lauren from Measure Creating Artwork Under the Moniker Black & Red Eye

By SOP newswire2

Originally from the concrete depths of New Jersey; Lauren Denitzio seems to have spent a lifetime fervently investing her creativity in punk rock. Aside from being the guitarist/vocalist for The Measure [sa] (New Brunswick, NJ), Denitzio has been creating artwork, of varying visual degrees under the moniker Black & Red Eye, using thoughtful linework, an eccentric and beautiful use of patterns, and textures foreign to atypical art supplies.
In addition to artwork for The Measure, she has created art for punk bands and projects such as North Lincoln, Fake Problems, the Ergs, 924 Gilman Street, Harvest of Hope Fest, Razorcake, and more. Aside from her undeniable passion for investing in her own subculture; she has contributed work to groups and publications such as LAMBDA Legal, Pedal Printing, The New York Indypendent, For The Birds Feminist Collective, and the list goes on. Additionally, she spent years as the Art Director for The CMJ Network.
Currently, Denitzio is launching the newly redesigned webpage for Black & Red Eye. Besides a new visual approach to a web gallery of her work, the new design will also include a web store, including a thoughtful array of prints, as well other merchandise; and a blog with more frequent updates on her boundless journey of creation.
Lauren Denitzio is currently working on art for, North Park Awesome Fast, Basement Black, Grabass Charlestons and Toys That Kill; and has teamed up with Pedal Printing (Buffalo, NY) on a slew of screenprinting projects.
For those of you going to SXSW Lauren will have work at the Pedal Printing booth during Flatstock 20 March 19-22nd at the Austin Convention Center.

11am-6pm Thursday

1pm-6pm Friday-Sunday
The event is sponsored by the American Poster Institute and will feature work from, Tara MacPherson, Guy Burwell, Ledouxville, Burlesque Design, Hero Studios and more.
Lauren recently did an interview with where she talks about her artwork and the future plans for The Measure [sa]. You can read the interview here:
