Don't Take Porn With You To Australia

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Visitors to Australia now have another question to answer in addition to declaring whether they are carrying any firearms, weapons or illicit drugs. Are they bringing in any pornography?

The additional query was introduced in September 2009, Customs said Friday, adding that it was designed to pick up prohibited items such as child pornography at the border.

But the Australian Sex Party described it as a `monstrous invasion of people`s privacy` which would leave the laptops and mobile phones of anyone entering the country open to scrutiny."

This is an egregious invasion of privacy, and Americans who value their civil liberties should cancel any plans they have to visit Australia.

Child pornography is a heinous crime and anyone who engages in this loathsome enterprise should be thrown in prison for the rest of their lives. But fears of child porn are just a cover to invade the privacy of visitors Down Under.

These days who doesn`t have nude pics of their loved one in their cell phone or laptop? Adults who have nude pics of their sweethearts in their hi-tech gadgets will be treated like criminals.

Even if a traveler has x-rated films downloaded in his laptop, why the hell should he have to declare this information to anyone?

Americans love Australia because of its carefree attitude, but this new law is going to make a lot of us reconsider vacationing in that country.
