Stop The UFO Insanity!

"IS there somebody out there?

UFO reports have come in from half a dozen or so readers who spotted something in the air during the Christmas and New Year holiday.

Last week we had reports of strange lights over the town on Christmas Day, mainly of
an orange, yellowish ball which made no sound as it crossed the sky."

UFO sightings are a staple of UK tabloids, they elicit a few chuckles from regular folks and reverence from UFO nuts.

A dozen readers of the Bridlington Free Press spotted something in the air during the Christmas holiday. I`m not a ufologist or an astronomer, but I`m convinced these people saw Santa Claus flying in the air. Why that`s ridiculous you say! Is it any more asinine that a fool claiming he saw a little green man piloting a flying saucer?

No legitimate newspaper would publish a report of a man who claimed he saw the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, why do newspapers publish UFO stories?

An orange, yellowish ball which made no sound as it crossed the sky? That`s obviously a Chinese Lantern, and not an extraterrestrial craft.

I wish the media would make a New Year`s pledge not to print any UFO articles.
