The remains of a 5-year-old Australian boy were recovered Tuesday in the stomach of a 14-foot male crocodile. The incident occurred when 5-year-old Jeremy Doble was playing with his 7-year-old brother Ryan behind their family property in a flooded mangrove swamp, when he suddenly disappeared.
According to the victims` brother, he saw a crocodile immediately afterward but did not see an attack.
The crocodile was trapped near where the boy had vanished on Feb. 8, in the flooded DaintreeRiver, an international attraction for ecotourists, a police statement read.
After much speculation, police confirmed the incident, claiming that a boy who vanished from an Australian river edge was attacked and eaten by a crocodile.
