Visit to Russia by Miguel Angel Moratinos, Spain's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation
Question: Spain`s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Miguel Angel Moratinos will visit Russia soon. What is the agenda of upcoming talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries?
Answer: Miguel Angel Moratinos, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, will pay a visit to the Russian Federation on August 29-30, 2007, at Sergey Lavrov`s invitation.
During the talks, a wide spectrum of issues in bilateral political, economic and commercial cooperation and the most pressing international problems will be discussed.
One of the central themes will be reformation of the OSCE, of which Spain is the Chairman-in-Office in the current year. Lavrov and Moratinos will exchange views on Russia-EU cooperation, on Russia-NATO Council activities and on a regional dossier " the situation in the Middle East, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The talks of the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Russia and Spain will constitute another link in the dynamically evolving bilateral summit- and high-level political dialogue between Moscow and Madrid.
