Help Get Out Ohio's Muslim Vote
CAIR-Ohio is seeking volunteers for a "Get Out the Muslim Vote" primary election center in its Cleveland chapter. Volunteers will staff phone banks in the election center to call eligible Muslim voters statewide and urge them to go to the polls in Ohio's primary on March 4
CAIR-Ohio's non-partisan election center is part of CAIR's overall goal of enhancing American Muslim political and civic engagement. The effort is part of a nationwide strategy to register voters, distribute voter guides and get out the Muslim vote for the 2008 elections.
"Ohio is a key state in both the March 4 primary and in the general election this fall," said CAIR-Cleveland Executive Director Julia Shearson. "Democracy is all about civic participation and being part of the solution. Ohio Muslims are part of that process."
Shearson said CAIR-Ohio hopes to reach thousands of eligible Muslim voters in the run-up to the March 4 primary.
