Sidney Blumenthal is former assistant and senior adviser to President Bill Clinton and senior adviser to Senator Hillary Clinton.

He has recently been a regular columnist for The Guardian of London and Salon.com, and was a staff writer for The New Yorker, The Washington Post, and The New Republic. He is the executive producer of Taxi to the Dark Side, a film on the Bush administration`s torture policy that won the Oscar for best documentary of 2007.

Blumenthal is the author of many critically acclaimed books including The Permanent Campaign, The Rise of the Counter-Establishment: The Conservative Ascent to Political Power (also available from Union Square Press), The Clinton Wars, and How Bush Rules: Chronicles of a Radical Regime. He is a senior fellow at the New York University Center on Law and Security.
