STOP the DRAMA . . . VOTE OBAMA!
They say you are what you eat, so does the same apply that if you live in a glass house then you are a fish? Or does that mean our democrat candidates live: Obama-- in a dream world, because a country that asks for a country united is so 18th century? And Clinton lives in a fantasy world because she wants to believe something that only exists in her mind?
Now, it is pretty bad when a humorist becomes serious. So before I am judged by a bunch of folks that disagree with me, understand I want the same thing as everyone - A soft bed, a job that I am appreciated at and the dollar I made today is worth the same or more tomorrow.
Anyhow, recently the country has been served up a little of that old school Washington politics. Let me put it to you this way. It is like the tortoise and the hare. The tortoise is chugging along and the rabbit is doing its best to slip up the tortoise. However, this modern day version is placing IEDs in the field destroying anything in its way. Old school wars believe or not had rules where as modern wars makeup rules as they go along.
Both democrats said they were running change, but polls are showing that maybe the safe and the same old thing is what we really want. Change sometimes means a leap of faith. Have you ever been faced with a life threatening matter? If you have, then you understand what faith I am talking about. Change is not just changing your words; it is staying true to being who you are and not who people want you to be.
Is Obama the elitist? That is the 100-dollar question; now think about it before you do read the definition:
Elite-- A small group of people within a larger group who have more power, social standing, wealth, talent than the rest of the group.
I would say YES... and with Clinton making over 100 million in 6 years and McCain having a few dollars as well I would say they all are elite. Now come on folks would you want it any other way? I wouldn't … I can tell you this much, if you ever see this no-account rope spinner humorist like myself on the ballot - DON'T vote for me! Unless it is to an office that means nothing and cant hurt anything. OR I am your last chance.
These people are in a class of their own, they need to be able to withstand, not judge and make the decisions for all of us. This is why we elect them. We have tried electing a simple person to office and it always fails.
I will let you sit and think about this for a minute.
It is kind of like being a superhero without your special super powers; you're just a person in a funny suit. I want my president and the people surrounding that person to be smart.
The other question that keeps coming up: Does Obama have the experience to win this race and run our country? As you all know, Lincoln was not that experienced and he did a good enough job that we still to this day associate him with common CENTS. Ok, so that may be a little too far back for most of you to remember. Lets bring that up to date; how often do you hear about 20 somethings that are billionaires (Yahoo, Facebook, Google,) or am I being too much of an elitist? How about Indy Race Car Driver Danika Patrick…. Now there is an inEXPERIENCE I would not want to face at a green light.
Next: Obama made a comment that folks are bitter and cling to guns and religion… This, of all the out of touch responses, amazes me the most. Let me start off by making it VERY clear that I was raised by a mother who was dirt poor and married to a severe father who let's say had a little drinking problem along with keeping jobs and like most lower income families – we were below the income to be considered lower income. I used to tell folks that when I was 15, I had moved at least 12 times. Folks would ask me if my parents were in the military, and I would say "No, just bad checks"-- funny, but not a joke. I tell you this to stop any thoughts that I would be labeled an elitist. Ok, here are a few reasons I think that Obama is DEAD on when he says people are bitter … and so on.
Home entry: robbery, folks get desperate for money and they steal, and folks who get robbed cling to there 2nd amendment.
Here are a few things that come to my mind when I heard the word "BITTER".
Graffiti: Again, considering my background and the city and state I came from, I think I have seen a fine bunch of tagging on walls and it has a message, but normally it is not "Have a good day!"
Litter: Our country focuses on global warming and I say it is called environmental, irresponsibility… look around and tell me that litter is not a form of bitterness. If you disagree with me, go ask a few folks that smoke why they toss their cig butts on the ground, and IF they don't throw a few less kind words to you, please report back to me the reasons they gave you.
The homeless: Take someone's dignity and the thing we work for everyday and MOST of us are willing to stay in debt for, our "Home Sweet Homes", and tell me that you would not be bitter. If you are having a problem with grasping this concept, talk to a friend that has lost his or her home to the mortgage or real estate folks.
The recession: Tell Americans that you are going to spend billions if not trillions of dollars on a cause (war) that is unjust and will take thousands of our sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, away from us, some forever-- and then let us work day and night to make a buck only to find out our money is not worth the paper it is printed on, and that our jobs are going away because the big boys need more money so they can …
Voter turn out: It has been proven that BOTH Obama and Clinton are raising the voter turn out. Mainly on the count of folks wanting to make sure we don't get an EXPERIENCE as we have had the last 8 years.
All in all, it really boils down to "Lesser of two evils". Now I have to tell you, if you are looking for the most "In touch" let me give you two good reasons why Clinton may not be the best candidate. Of course, I could give you all the reasons why to pick the candidates... however, we have been covered in this sweet sappy political good stuff for the last year, so I will give you what you may not have heard of.
Number one: People magazine did an interview with Hillary Clinton and the last question they asked was, “Have you ever had a RED BULL?" Her reply: "What is red bull?”
And two: Recently, a youtube video has surfaced with Hillary at an Indiana quick stop trying to get a cappuccino.
Two things ... Press the button and hold for 3 seconds, AND you would have to be living on another planet not to know what a Red Bull was. If the phone rings at 3 am, just make sure the message machine is off, that is the little button that says: on/off.
