Palin Ignorant Of Responsibilites Of A VP
Sarah Palin is the most unqualified and inexperienced candidate ever to run for vice-president, she makes Dan Quayle look like John F. Kennedy. The electorate isn`t fooled by Palin`s winks and colloquialisms, her rating approvals are in the gutter.
In July before McCain inexplicably choose Palin as his running mate, she expressed ignorance about the role of the vice-president. In an interview with Larry Kudlow of CNBC she said:
"As for that VP talk all the time, I`ll tell you, I still can`t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?"
Apparently John McCain still hasn`t told Palin the responsibilities of a vice-president.
"Yesterday, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) sat for an interview with KUSA, an NBC affiliate in Colorado. In response to a question sent to the network by a third grader at a local elementary school about what the Vice President does, Palin erroneously argued that the Vice President is `in charge of the United States Senate`"
The average third grader would have come up with a better answer. As any high school graduate knows the role of a vice-president is extremely limited:
"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided."
The vice-president rarely is seen in the hallowed halls of the Senate. With the Democrats having a fair chance of getting a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, chances are that Joe Biden will never need to cast a vote in the Senate.
Besides wielding the tie-breaker vote in the Senate, the other major role of the VP is to be ready to assume the responsibilities of the president at a moment`s notice. If the polls are right we will never have to face the horrible, horrible prospect of Palin sitting in the Oval Office.
Instead of spending $150,000 for a new wardrobe for Palin, the GOP should spend a couple of bucks and buy her a copy of the Constitution.
