George Clinton Father of Funk Horrified

George Clinton Father of Funk Horrified

By SOP newswire

Los Angeles, CA (rushprnews) - Ed Meyer, Producer and Director of Horrorween, a film to be released Halloween 2007 is pleased to announce that music legend George Clinton, considered by many to be the Forefather of Funk will be creating and recording original music material for the film with various hip-hop stars closely associated with him.

Clinton was the mastermind of such funk bands as Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and under the name George Clinton & the P.Funk All-Stars, recorded several solo albums as of 1981. With his band Parliament, he recorded several universally acclaimed funk albums, including Up For The Downstroke (1974), Mothership Connection (1975) and Mothership Connection (Live from the Summit, Houston, Texas). Even though Clinton has collaborated on various films, such as The Things I hate about you (1999), Charlie's Angels (2000), Baby Boy (2001) True Crime: Streets of L.A.(2003) and others, this will be the first time that Clinton will be recording a movie soundtrack on his own label The C Kunspyruhzy.

The excitement is felt on all sides of the project as George Clinton exclaimed during the meeting over Horrorween with Ed Meyer. Clinton's reaction over and over again was, "This movie sounds like so much fun." Clinton then burst into laughter and went on to jest: "Now don't tell me that this Dead Guy talks also! This is just too funny!"

Ed Meyer went on, "We are truly honored that George wants to create our soundtrack. We feel it is a perfect match of artistic genre. The tone of a film is set by two things; the opening scene and its soundtrack. With the granddaddy of Funk doing our soundtrack, Horrorween will move to its own beat and truly remains inimitable as is George Clinton. A true Original", he concluded. Now with a dead body guy as its star and Clinton doing the soundtrack, Horrorween is certain to attract a large amount of interest.

Let's not forget that the star of the film Dead Body Guy's own website (www.deadbodyguy.com) has received over 5,000,000 visitors in a matter of a few months and Mr. Lamb has been featured on over 11 TV stations, countless radio interviews and newspapers articles including the New York Times. The Dead Body Guy is a true global comic phenomenon.

George Clinton will also have an acting role in Horrorween, alongside Jill Kimmel, the sister of Talk Show Host Jimmy Kimmel, and Ashley Williams, the daughter of Talk Show Host Montel William. Stars who have committed to star in this film are: Morbidly world-famous Dead Body Guy (Chuck Lamb) Bill Daily (Newhart, I Dream of Jeannie) Mike Muscat (Terminator 2) Irwin Keyes (Wrestlemaniac) Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead) Ivy Iacono (MTV, Jimmy Kimmel Live) and Jill Kimmel Erik Estrada (Chips) ....with more stars coming on board daily.

Ed Meyer, compared by some to Colonel Tom Parker, is considered the modern day William Castle for his Film & TV promotional abilities. Known best as a comedy writer, producer, director and actor, he was one of the original producers of Entertainment Tonight and is now the head of Film Completions.
