Award-winning essayist and poet Dr. Christina Bautista joins the Student Operated Press as a contributing editor. Dr. Bautista is a freelance writer and editor and the host of Writers on Craft, a literary radio show broadcast globally by the SOP and iTunes.
Dr. Bautista's editorial experience includes stints as a senior editor for The College Press, freelance editor for Krieger Publishing Company and other clients, and editorial assistant for Plenum Publishing Company. Her articles have appeared worldwide in Atencion San Miguel, Homoeopathic Links, The American Homeopath, Resonance, The College Press, The Whitefish Pilot, The Daily Inter Lake, ICEA Bookmarks and other publications. Her essays and poetry have won numerous awards, including a national American poetry competition and a two-year fellowship as a writer and poet in residence.
Dr. Bautista earned a degree in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, as well as the degree of Doctor of Medicine in Alternative Medicines from Medicina Alternativa. She lives off-grid in the high desert near San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
