Introducing the New CAIR

Introducing the New CAIR

By SOP newswire

As-salaamu alaikum: (Peace be to you)

It is with great pride that I share exciting new developments at CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil rights organization. Today we are announcing the launch of a new website featuring an enhanced membership program designed to better serve you and our community.

Introducing the new CAIR

Our website offers a fresh look, easier ways to find relevant information and new tools for political and social empowerment. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new website at http://www.cair.com/.

CAIR at a Glance

  • Offices: CAIR has 32 chapters in 20 states and one in Canada. Each CAIR chapter is governed by an independent board and solicits its funding almost exclusively from its local community.

  • Employees and Volunteers: CAIR’s national office and chapters employ more than 80 staff, more than 300 active volunteer board or executive committee members, and numerous interns.

  • Community Support: CAIR is a grassroots organization. In 2006, nearly 10,000 Americans attended CAIR’s annual banquets held in more than 20 cities.

Our new membership program connects you to a community of like-minded individuals who want to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

When you log in, your online profile will allow you to manage your CAIR e-mail preferences and update your membership and contact information.

Member benefits include:

  • Member-only customized page with access to the latest advocacy tools

  • Free downloads of select CAIR publications

  • Daily or weekly subscription to CAIR’s informative and empowering e-mails

  • 10% discounts on select CAIR events and publications

  • CAIR’s “Know Your Rights Pocket Guide”

  • Automatic online membership renewal

Our new website highlights include:

  • A CAIR member page that provides advocacy tools, access to your donation history and information about your elected representatives and proposed legislation.
  • A new Action Center that gives you a one-stop web resource for action alerts from CAIR, information about pending legislation, ways to contact your elected representatives, voter registration, and how to become a CAIR volunteer, intern or staff member.
  • An Issues section that tracks the numerous topics of importance to our community. This section will be a valuable resource to help you take action to address these issues.
  • A section that compiles and categorizes CAIR's press releases, news items in which CAIR participated, and the American Muslim News Briefs (a unique compilation of news items of interest to you).

God says in the Holy Quran that He does not change the condition of a people until they change that which is within themselves. Help yourself, your family and your community by renewing your commitment to support America’s leading Muslim civil liberties institution.

Executive Director
