Your Year-End Contribution Can Save Wolves
With a decision expected any day on the fate of wolves in the Greater Yellowstone Region, time is running out to save some of America’s most precious wildlife.
I need your help now to implement an emergency campaign to stop the senseless slaughter of hundreds of wolves. Please make a tax-deductible donation of $25.00, $50.00, $100.00, or whatever you can afford to support Defenders of Wildlife’s proven legal, public education and proactive conservation strategies to save wolves and other wildlife.*
* Make your contribution before 11:59 PM tomorrow night (December 31st), and your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law on your 2007 taxes.
Donate $50 or more, and we’ll even send you a free Defenders fleece jacket as thanks for your gift!
Officials in the Bush/Cheney Administration have been working to eliminate vital protections for wolves in the Greater Yellowstone area. If they are successful, state officials could kill as many as two-thirds of the wolves in Wyoming and all but appromimately 100 wolves in Idaho.
Without federal protection, wolves could be gunned down from helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft. They could be trapped and snared, dying slow, painful deaths.
Under Wyoming’s plan, wolves wandering from the safety of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks could be shot. And in Idaho, even pups could be killed.
Defenders of Wildlife is going to do everything we can to save these wolves, but we need your support to do it. Please make your year-end, tax-deductible donation of $25.00, $50.00, $100.00, or whatever you can afford and help support our work.
With your help, we can…
- Fight in the Courts to Protect Wolves. Our legal experts have successfully defended Yellowstone’s wolves and other wildlife across the country. With your help, they’ll fight and win again.
- Mobilize Public Support for Wolves in the Northern Rockies. In 2007, Defenders helped pack public hearings across the Greater Yellowstone Region with hundreds of wolf supporters and generated more than 139,000 public comments opposing de-listing of wolves.
- Collaborate with Ranchers to Implement Common Sense Wolf Management Strategies. Our work with landowners and communities is reducing conflicts between wolves and humans, increasing tolerance and saving wolves.
Please donate $25.00, $50.00, $100.00, or whatever you can afford today and help us save wolves in 2008. We have a tough fight ahead of us, but I know -- with your help -- we can win it.
Best Wishes for the New Year,
Defenders of Wildlife
