Judyth Piazza chats with Bob Jamison, Author of What was John Thinking?
Between occupations in local government and various credit union positions, Bob spent 5 years getting his Bachelor of Theology degree from Fountain Gate Bible College and 6 years in full time ministry. During this period, he served as Church Administrator, Director of a Children`s Home, and President of a Christian Institute and Missions Ministry in which he taught and sought the working together of churches to help the poor. He has other academic degrees with majors in Finance and Public Administration, and is a retired Captain in the Navy Reserve.
Bob is currently retired and residing in the Texas hill country with Janet, his wife of over 50 years. He volunteers as Treasurer of and writes weekly newspaper articles for Helping Hand, " an inter-church ministry helping individuals and families in crisis with hope and resources to get back on their feet.
After writing a study on the feasibility of building and operating a medical clinic for the uninsured poor, Bob is now part of a group to build and operate the clinic.
The following are reviews of Bob`s book, What Was John Thinking?
Bob is a faithful member of my congregation; he is a man of prayer, and I have watched this book come into being, birthed out of his personal prayer and meditation.
This book is food for the soul; as it takes the reader through each chapter of the Gospel revealing Jesus and making Him relevant to life today. Reading these pages, I have found enlightenment that threw light on the meaning and life of Christ; it beckoned me to explore neglected pathways of truth and above all I was inspired to worship the Lord Jesus who is magnified in every page.
" Bishop Malcolm Smith, Zoe Community of the Holy Spirit, Bandera, Texas
I have known Bob well for 25 years and wholeheartedly attest to his godly character. Ever the practical man, in his book Bob challenges us with a withering critique of common dualistic thinking, [living a non-spiritual secular life separate from one`s spiritual life], laying hold of John`s quote of our Lord, It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. " I was constantly probed by his analysis prefaced by What was John thinking? " This is a book that calls for action; an action rooted in the life-flow of God the Holy Spirit and fulfillment of the high-calling of Jesus to His disciples in truth and in love.
