Pope Wins the Hearts of Turks
Following a misunderstood speech about Islam, Pope’s visit to Turkey and praying in the Blue Mosque of Istanbul, side by side with an imam, won the hearts of Turks who are predominantly Moslem.
The word Moslem comes from the Arabic root of “slm” which means “peace”.
So, a Moslem actually is a peace loving person and Islam, “the religion of peace”. Theoretically, anyone who believes in peace is a Moslem, irrespective of his religion. Prophet Mohamed said : “A good Moslem is also a good Christian and a good Jew”.
Koran advises the believers of Koran to talk with the Christians and the Jews to unite and start a nation of Abraham. The Old Testament also praises Prophet Abraham and that “His nation will bring holiness to the mankind” The black stone in Mecca, which is visited by millions of Moslem pilgrims each year, is a monument erected by Prophet Abraham.
Pope left Turkey with much “good will” and “brotherly feelings” on both sides.
Nothing less should be expected from the religions of the same God, as God is one.
Inspired by Pope’s visit to Turkey and praying in the Blue Mosque, Turkish author Askin Ozcan, a resident of STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN sent his Holiness The Pope, his books SMALL MIRACLES and LIGHTNING AND A BOUQUET OF ROSES as a Christmas gift. The former is an account of thirty small miracles Askin Ozcan has himself experienced in different countries and the latter, his poetry collection.
SMALL MIRACLES also has a chapter about the coming closer of God’s different religions.
His Holiness The Pope Benedict XVI sent Askin Ozcan a “thank you” letter together with his autographed picture. Askin Ozcan says “this is the most valuable letter he received in all his life.”
Askin Ozcan’s books are available in major internet shops and in bookstores by giving their ISBN numbers :

LIGHTNING AND A BOUQUET OF ROSES - ISBN 1424111870 (Publish America)
